Description
A pair of United States Air Force Type B-3A summer flying gloves. These gloves are constructed from dark brown leather and feature a five-finger design with an extended gauntlet. The exterior of each gauntlet is marked with a white circular transfer depicting the United States Air Force wing and star emblem above the text U.S. AIR FORCE. The interior of the glove features a legible white ink stamp containing the wing and star emblem and the following text: U.S. AIR FORCE, GLOVES, FLYING, LEATHER, SUMMER, TYPE B-3A, SPECIFICATION MIL-G-9087A, SIZE 10. This pattern was standard issue for pilots and aircrew during the Korean War and early Cold War eras.
