Description
This is a custom-tailored US Army Air Forces officers Ike jacket, anufactured by Meyer & Mortimer Ltd. of London, as indicated by the woven label located in the interior pocket. The label is dated 1944 and is handwritten with the name Lew A. Gray and the number 1050. The left shoulder displays a theater-made bullion wire Eighth Air Force patch on a blue wool felt circular base. The left epaulet retains a single silver-toned bullion wire rank bar for a First Lieutenant. The interior is lined with a dark brown fabric. Unresearched. Also once had a bullion wing.
