Description
This is a US military issue Type CWU-45/P cold weather flyer’s jacket in sage green. The garment is constructed from fire-resistant Nomex material and features a quilted lining for insulation. The front closure consists of a full-length metal zipper with a fabric pull tab. The jacket includes two large bellows-style front cargo pockets with slanted flap closures and a utility/pencil pocket located on the left sleeve. It is finished with knit cuffs and a knit waistband. The shoulder epaulets are fitted with Captain (O-3) rank insignia, represented by double silver bars. The jacket is configured with multiple Velcro loop attachment points for insignia, including a rectangular name tape section on the left chest, a rectangular unit patch section on the right chest, a shield-shaped squadron patch section on the lower right chest, and patch sections on both upper sleeves. A neon green high-visibility Velcro strip is present on the upper right chest. The interior neck area contains two labels. The upper label is significantly faded and illegible. The lower label identifies the item as JACKETS, FLYERS, COLD WEATHER TYPE CWU-45/P and provides care instructions, noting the fire-resistant properties of the material.
