Description
United States Air Force Type B-15D Intermediate Flying Jacket manufactured by Rolen Sportswear Co. under contract AF-33 (602)-4079. The garment features a sage green nylon outer shell and a contrasting dark green synthetic mouflon fur collar. The front is secured by a heavy-duty metal zipper protected by a wind flap with decorative zig-zag reinforcement stitching. Storage includes two diagonal front slash pockets with snap fasteners and a utility/pencil pocket on the left sleeve with a zippered closure and metal pull. The jacket is finished with ribbed wool-blend knit cuffs and a matching waistband. The interior is fully lined with a heavy-pile insulating material. An original manufacturer label is sewn into the interior below the collar with the following text: JACKET, FLYING, INTERMEDIATE, TYPE B-15D SPEC.
