Description
US Army Tropical Combat Uniform set, commonly referred to as jungle fatigues, consisting of a shirt and matching trousers. The shirt is identified as a Third Pattern (M1967) design, constructed from olive drab (OG-107) ripstop cotton poplin. It is characterized by four slanted bellows pockets with covered buttons and a wind flap over the front closure. The uniform has been modified for post-war veteran use with various commemorative and service-era insignia. The right shoulder bears a 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) shoulder sleeve insignia, consisting of a yellow shield with a diagonal black bar and horse head profile. The left shoulder displays a circular Vietnam Veterans of America patch and a POW-MIA You Are Not Forgotten commemorative patch. Silver-tone Master Sergeant (E-8) rank chevrons are pinned to the collar. On the wearer’s right chest, a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) is pinned above a unit award ribbon rack containing the Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award, and Meritorious Unit Commendation. The wearer’s left chest features a multi-ribbon rack including the Bronze Star with a V device and oak leaf clusters, the Purple Heart, and the National Defense Service Medal. The trousers are matching ripstop cotton cargo pants and include a standard brown web belt with a brass buckle. An interior neck label is present with the text PROPERTY visible.
