Description

Vintage military aircraft identification model of a Boeing B-29 Superfortress, attributed to the Cruver Manufacturing Co. of Chicago. The model is constructed of molded cellulose acetate plastic with a matte finish. These static models were produced during World War II as training aids for military personnel to identify friendly and enemy aircraft. The underside of the port wing features raised characters reading U.S.A. B-29. The underside of the starboard wing displays a copyright symbol followed by the date 8,44 and below that 9,44, indicating production in August and September of 1944. The model features four engine nacelles and the characteristic streamlined fuselage of the heavy bomber.
