Description
This collection features non-sport trading cards from the 1996 Marvel Masterpieces series, produced by Fleer Skybox International. The lot includes cards from the base set with original painted artwork by fantasy artists Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell. Featured are eight cards from the Duels subset, designed as panoramic pairs: Captain America 73 and Red Skull 74 with art by Boris; Phoenix 70 and Magneto 71 with art by Julie Bell; Thor 82 and Loki 83 with art by Julie Bell; and X-Man 58 and Dark Beast 59 with art by Julie Bell. Each card front displays a gold foil-stamped Marvel Masterpieces logo and character name. The reverse sides feature character biographies, printed artist signatures, and copyright information. The transcription on the back of each card reads: ? 1996 MARVEL CHARACTERS, INC. THE DISTINCTIVE LIKENESSES THEREOF: TM AND ? 1996 MARVEL CHARACTERS, INC. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
