Description
This is a Singer Model No. 20 hand-cranked toy sewing machine set, manufactured by the Singer Manufacturing Co. The machine is constructed of black-enameled cast iron with nickel-plated metal components, including the spoked handwheel, stitch plate, and needle bar assembly. The machine arm and base feature gold-toned lettering that reads SINGER. A gold-toned decal emblem is present on the base featuring the central S logo surrounded by THE SINGER MANFG. CO. and TRADE MARK. Stamped numbers 1 through 5 appear on various metal guides to facilitate threading. This manual machine is designed to produce a single-thread chain stitch. The set includes an original green faux-alligator embossed carrying case with a patterned fabric lining and brass-toned hardware. Also included is the original instruction booklet titled INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING SINGER SEWING MACHINE No. 20, bearing the notation Form 7933 Revised June, 1926, with copyright dates of 1922 and 1926. Accessories include a black metal C-clamp for table mounting, a pair of metal scissors with green-painted handles, and a small metal adjustment tool.
