Description
This lot consists of two Matchbox Superfast series die-cast toy vehicles manufactured by Lesney Products and Co. Ltd. in England. The first item is a No. 11 Flying Bug, a fantasy vehicle based on a Volkswagen Beetle. The vehicle features a red die-cast body, a large red plastic rear wing, two yellow plastic jet pipes, and RARE blue-tinted windows. A seated pilot figure with a silver-painted helmet is visible inside. The front hood is decorated with a white and black cross decal. This item includes its original blue and yellow cardstock box, which displays the Matchbox and Superfast branding, the model name, and number 11. The box includes text for Mag-Wheels-Racing Suspension and is marked Made in England. The second item is a No. 38 Stingeroo chopper trike. This model features a metallic magenta die-cast body paired with a purple plastic tubular frame. It is equipped with a large, exposed silver-tone engine block and three wheels, including wide rear mag tires. The side of the engine block is molded with the letters LLEDO, a reference to Lesney co-founder Jack Odell. This model was originally produced with a plastic rider figure which is not present in this lot.
