This significant Bronze Age key issue features the origin and first appearance of Richard Rider as Nova, as well as the first appearance of Ginger Jaye. The story is written by Marv Wolfman with interior pencil art by John Buscema and inks by Joe Sinnott. The cover art is credited to Rich Buckler and Joe Sinnott. This specimen is a newsstand edition, identifiable by the barcode located in the lower-left corner of the front cover. The back cover features a full-page color advertisement for Spalding YourGlove baseball equipment with illustrations by Jack Davis.
