Description
This is an original World War II era German award, the Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter or Honor Cross of the German Mother in Gold, presented in its original, fitted navy blue presentation case. The hinged case features the Mother s Cross design embossed in gold on the lid. The medal itself is a high-quality enameled cross, with white and blue enamel on a gold-toned cross, and features a central black swastika on a white background, surrounded by a gold sunburst. The award is suspended from its original blue and white striped ribbon, which is neatly looped in the case. The Gold class was the highest level of this civil decoration, generally awarded for having eight or more children. Crucially, the reverse of the cross is engraved with the dedication date 16. Dezember 1938 and the facsimile signature of Adolf Hitler, confirming its authenticity as an early issue award made before the start of the war. The excellent preservation of the medal and its original case makes this a highly collectible and historically significant piece of Third Reich social and civilian decoration.
