Description
This fun cartoon map was distributed to members of the Mickey Mouse Globe Trotters as a promotional item from Freihofer’s Baking Company. The map encourages Globe Trotters to "buy the bread with the Mickey Mouse band" to play a "race ’round the world" game between Mickey and the Big Bad Wolf. Throughout the map, Mickey and the Big Bad Wolf are depicted causing region-specific mischief and mayhem: Between El Paso and Chicago, Mickey is a cowboy. In Spain, the Big Bad Wolf gets the bull’s horns. In Africa, Mickey rides a camel and an elephant. In India, the Big Bad Wolf is chased by a king cobra. In Australia, Mickey bounces after a kangaroo on a spring. Vignettes of various characters, including Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy (here shown as Dippy the Goof), surround the map. Panels across the top and bottom allow Globe Trotters to paste their own pictures. On the reverse side, Mickey takes a tour of the various breads of the world. This wonderful pictorial map is a delightful piece for Disney fans of all ages, blending nostalgia with the charm of classic Disney characters. Also includes a complete and RARE set of placement cards, original holding envelope and the original mailing envelope. The map and various cards come up on occasion however, to find a complete game set in this condition is extremely rare.
