Description
This is a great badge with a sterling silver Expert Infantry Badge with deep light blue enameling that has been fitted with a large heavy, silver, wreath to convert it to a Combat Infantry Badge. Clutch back with smooth sterling fasteners. The original concept of the badge was to provide the portion with the musket to infantry soldiers who had served in combat. The wreath was to be added to the badges of soldiers who showed great skill or valor in combat. Eventually, all infantrymen who served in combat for 30 days received the badge with the wreath.
