Description
Comprehensive collection of period postcards depicting all of the major White Star Line and other ships of the period. This family collection includes a 1912 dated post card of the Titanicand what appears to be, an original period Titanic pewter flask. The archive was once housed in a large scrapbook style album that dissintegrated over time. The items were placed in an album to preserve their condition. The postcards span from the early 1910s through WWII, and include various items from Nazi Germany. It appears that the family traveled often, and both sent and received postcard correspondence throughout their travels. The origins of the Titanic flask are unknown, but it appears to be a period commemorative or similar type item. The album is quite large, and packed with historical paper ephemera.
