Offered here is a striking 8×10 black and white photograph, personally autographed by Colonel John R. Alison, one of the most celebrated American fighter aces of World War II. The photo features Alison in uniform, captured during the height of his wartime service, and is hand-signed in ink with excellent clarity.A key figure in the famed 23rd Fighter Group, which carried on the legacy of the legendary Flying Tigers (AVG) in the China-Burma-India Theater, Alison became a double ace, credited with multiple aerial victories against Japanese aircraft. His aggressive flying style, skill, and leadership earned him a place among the top American pilots of the war.In addition to his combat achievements, Alison later served as Deputy Commander of the 1st Air Commando Group, pioneering joint air-ground operations that helped establish the foundations of modern special operations aviation.
