This issue features a dynamic cover illustration by Jim Steranko, depicting multiple costumed superhero characters in battle against a large, bearded, horned figure, with a stylized feline shadow in the background. The comic is priced at 12? and marked -IND. DEC.- on the cover, with the -APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY- seal visible in the upper right. This issue is notable for the first appearance of Erik the Red.
