Description
This lot consists of two black and white photographs featuring prominent players from the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). The first photograph depicts Alice Lefty Hohlmayer of the Kenosha Comets in a defensive play. The image includes handwritten inscriptions identifying the player, her team, her years of active play from 1946 to 1951, and a notation for the Hall of Fame dated November 5, 1988. The second photograph features catcher Leone Peppi Paire Davis of the Racine Belles kneeling in her catching gear. This photograph is inscribed with her name, team, position, and years of play from 1944 to 1953. It also features a Hall of Fame notation dated November 5, 1988, and a lower inscription referencing the film A League of Their Own dated July 1, 1992.
