Description
A limited edition lithograph by artist Robert Stephen Simon, copyright dated 1987, depicting the October 3, 1951, baseball game at the Polo Grounds known as The Shot Heard Round the World. The print is hand-signed in ink within the image area by players Bobby Thomson and Ralph Branca, with both adding the date Oct. 3, 1951 to their signatures. The artist has further hand-signed the piece in pencil in the lower right margin. The work is numbered 284/1951 in pencil in the lower left corner. The piece is presented in a wooden frame with a white mat. The reverse of the frame features a handwritten gift inscription dated December 1994.
Condition: The lithograph appears to be in good condition. The wooden frame shows minor surface wear and light scuffing. The dust cover on the reverse exhibits a small tear and light toning.
