A French military manpack radio transceiver, model ATR 140, manufactured for the Services Techniques des Telecommunications de l Air (S.T.T.A.). This unit serves as the French variant of the American AN/PRC-25/77 series tactical VHF FM radio. The assembly is constructed of metal with an olive drab finish and consists of the main transceiver body, a detachable DY-27-B power supply module, a standard military-style handset with a push-to-talk button and coiled cord, and a flexible tape-style whip antenna. The top control panel features manual interfaces for Tuning, Volume, Squelch, Power, Remote, and Dial Light. A metal identification plate on the power supply module contains the following literal transcriptions: S.T.T.A, DY – 27 – B, MARCHE 64/80510.00.481.75.88, A.T.R 140, and Q. et E. The plate is hand-stamped with serial number 1336 and a Recette (acceptance) date of 5/66, indicating manufacture and military inspection in May 1966. A manufacturer logo for LMT (Le Materiel Telephonique) is located on the lower left of the identification plate.
