Description

A Soviet Red Army (RKKA) enlisted man’s field belt, characteristic of mid-20th century military issue from the 1940s to the 1950s. The belt is constructed from heavyweight olive drab canvas webbing. It features a rectangular metal buckle with a centrally stamped five-pointed star, the primary symbol of the Soviet military. The buckle is attached to the webbing via a metal loop and includes a catch on the reverse for closure. Two sliding canvas keepers are present for securing the belt end and adjusting the fit. The reverse of the buckle catch features incised markings resembling the numeral 2 and the character 5 or S, which likely represent a size (rost) or factory inspection mark. This style of webbing was commonly produced during and after World War II due to leather shortages.
