Description
These are British Royal Air Force (RAF) Mk VIII pattern flying goggles manufactured by Luxor, model number 801. The construction consists of metal frames housing split glass safety lenses, backed by padded leather for the face seal. The leather bridge piece connecting the eye cups is embossed with the mark LUXOR PATENTED. The metal frames are stamped with the number 801 above each lens. Faint etched script is visible on the surface of the lenses. The goggles are equipped with an adjustable elasticized fabric strap attached via leather tabs. This specific model was widely utilized by aircrew during World War II and remained a preferred choice for open-cockpit aviation and motoring throughout the mid-20th century.Standard adult size.
