Description
This lot consists of a WWII-era German Luftwaffe winter flight helmet, model LKp W 101, and a pair of flight goggles. The helmet is constructed of dark brown leather with a heavy interior lining of cream-colored sheepskin fleece. It features a leather chin strap with a steel buckle, integrated ear cups, and three leather goggle-retention straps on the rear secured by snap fasteners. An interior white cloth label is printed in black ink with the text STRIEGEL & WAGNER KOM.-GES. / LICHTENFELS / BAYER. OSTMARK. A size stamp in purple ink reads Grosse: 58. The accompanying goggles feature gray-green painted metal frames, clear glass lenses, and a split-bridge design. The goggles are attached to the helmet via a black elasticized strap. The Goggle rubber facing is in poor condition.
