Description
This is a German Army (Heer) Enlisted Men (EM) and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) M34 overseas field cap, also known as a Schiffchen. The exterior is constructed from standard-issue feldgrau wool and features a two-piece side curtain design with a scalloped front. The cap is fitted with a machine-woven BeVo style national emblem consisting of an eagle and swastika in grey thread on a field-grey base, positioned above a woven national tricolor cockade. The interior is fully lined with tan-colored cotton twill fabric. Two darkened metal ventilation grommets are present, one on each side of the cap. The interior lining is marked with a size stamp of 57. Additional ink-stamped manufacturer information and a date are present but have faded beyond legibility.
