Description
A World War II-era US Army officer’s summer-weight service cap, constructed from tan khaki cotton twill. The cap is designed in the crusher style, characterized by the absence of an internal wire stiffener, which allows for a soft, collapsible form. The front is fitted with a gold-toned metal officer’s insignia featuring the Great Seal of the United States with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The cap includes a dark brown chinstrap secured by two small gold-toned buttons embossed with the US Army seal. The visor is made of a dark brown finished material. The interior features a brown leather sweatband and a reddish-brown protective moisture barrier in the crown. No manufacturer labels, contract stamps, or size markings are visible on the interior.
