This lot consists of three authentic U.S. Air Force Type K-2B Very Light flying suits constructed from sage green cotton poplin. The first suit was manufactured by Covington Industries, Inc. under contract DSA-1-3252-64-C, dated September 30, 1963, following specification MIL-S-6265D. It is a size Small Regular and features a 363rd Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) patch on the right breast and embroidered Captain rank insignia on the epaulets. The second suit is attributed to Major Shumaker, featuring an embroidered name tape, Pilot wings, and gold-colored Major oak leaf rank insignia on the shoulders. The third suit was manufactured by E.C.T. Corporation under contract DSA 100-68-C-1306, dated January 8, 1968, following specification MIL-C-6265E. This suit is a size Small Regular and includes embroidered Shumaker and U.S. Air Force tapes, Senior Pilot wings, and Captain rank insignia. All suits feature the standard K-2B configuration including multiple zippered utility pockets, oxygen mask tabs, and adjustable snap-waist closures.
