A Silver Age comic book published by Marvel Comics Group, titled The X-Men, issue number 23, dated August 1966. The cover art features pencils by Werner Roth and inks by Dick Ayers. This issue contains the story To Save A City! and features the first appearance of the Ani-Men Ape, Bird-Man, Cat-Man, and Frog-Man . The front cover includes the original 12 cent price, the Marvel Comics Group branding with character portraits, and the seal of the Comics Code Authority. The back cover features a full-page color advertisement for Wallace Brown, Inc. 1966 Christmas cards. The comic is a standard saddle-stitched publication with two staples. Approx. 7 x 10 inches.
