Description
This lot features a collection of nine vintage Edgeworth smoking tobacco tins and components, professionally presented in a custom wooden shadow box display case. Manufactured by the Larus and Brother Company of Richmond, Virginia, the collection includes various sizes and product types including Extra High Grade Ready-Rubbed, Plug Slice, and Sliced Pipe Tobacco. The items are constructed of lithographed tinplate featuring the brand’s signature blue and white scrollwork and decorative border designs. The assortment includes one large upright tin, two medium upright tins one positioned outside the display case , and four small pocket-sized tins. Two additional open tin sets are mounted to show the printed consumer information and slogans on the interior lids alongside their corresponding metal bottoms. Markings on the tins include Edgeworth, Extra High Grade, and the manufacturer credit Larus and Bro. Co. Richmond, Va. U.S.A. One small tin retains a partial paper United States Internal Revenue tax stamp with a 1 3/4 denomination. The wooden display case is lined with dark fabric and features a glass front with brass-tone hinges and a side latch.
