A collection of vintage tobacco advertising and packaging featuring various brands and styles from the early to mid-20th century. The group includes a King Bird Smoking Tobacco paper-wrapped soft pack manufactured by F. F. Adams Tobacco Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which displays a bird illustration on the front. A Blue Ship Fine Cut Turkish Blend cardboard pack by The Royal Canadian Tobacco Co. of Toronto, Canada, features an orange and black nautical design with a 15-cent price point. The collection also contains a Duke’s Mixture Smoking Tobacco cloth drawstring pouch by Liggett – Myers of Durham, North Carolina, which retains its yellow paper label with a red seal and the signature of W. Duke Sons – Co. An Every Day Smoke paper-wrapped package by Liggett – Myers Tobacco Co. includes a blue U.S. Internal Revenue tax stamp citing the Act of February 26, 1926, for two ounces of tobacco. A cloth souvenir pouch for an Old Barn Dance held at the Student Union Ballroom is dated August 26, 1944, and is accompanied by a green one-ounce U.S. Internal Revenue tax stamp. Completing the assembly is an Orlando Juniors cardboard cigar box manufactured in the Second District of Virginia, which features a printed crest with an eagle and shields.
