Description
A large collection of international and US coinage presented in a two-compartment wooden storage chest. The upper compartment contains multiple coins individually secured in 2×2 cardboard and plastic flips, with handwritten inscriptions identifying issues from China including 1 Yuan and 5 Fen and Jordan. The lower compartment contains a significant quantity of loose world coins alongside approximately 14 labeled plastic coin tubes. Legible loose denominations include a UK cupro-nickel Half Crown, a 1994 Hong Kong 2 Dollar coin, and various Indonesian issues 50 and 200 Rupiah dated 1997-2003 . The loose assortment also features coins from Chile, South Africa, and Thailand. Design motifs are diverse, featuring portraits of Elizabeth II, Rama IX, and Pope John Paul II, as well as the Indonesian Garuda emblem and several coins with central holes. The plastic tubes are organized by specific years and mint marks, including 1928, 1929, 1940-S, 1944-S, 1946-S, 1949-D, and 1957-D, as well as tubes labeled by decade from the 1940s through 1980s. Metal compositions appear to include various silver-tone cupro-nickel or aluminum alloys, bronze-tone copper alloys, and brass-tone alloys.
