Description

Original WWII-era U.S. M1923 cartridge belt constructed of khaki cotton webbing and designed to carry .30-06 ammunition in ten individual pockets, typically in M1 Garand eight-round en-bloc clips or Springfield rifle stripper clips. The belt retains its original bronze-colored hardware, snap closures, adjustment fittings, and numerous equipment eyelets along the lower edge for attaching additional field gear. The interior shows period ink markings, including a partially legible manufacturer/date stamp that appears consistent with wartime production. The belt exhibits honest field wear, staining, fading, oxidation and verdigris to several metal eyelets and fittings, along with minor edge and fabric wear. One area shows period stitching/repair consistent with service use.A well-used and visually appealing example of the standard U.S. infantry ammunition belt carried throughout World War II. Overall good, field-used condition with age and wear as shown.
