Description
WWII Airborne Artillery Cap Patch Trio: Parachute, Glider & Paraglider. A complete evolutionary set of three WWII U.S. Army Airborne Artillery garrison cap patches – Parachute Artillery, Combined Paraglider Artillery, and Glider Artillery – each embroidered on the branch-distinctive red field. This lot brings together the full design progression of airborne field artillery insignia as worn on the overseas (garrison) cap during the Second World War. Red disc and oval backings were reserved for Airborne Field Artillery, distinguishing these troopers from the light-blue-backed Infantry parachutists with whom they served in the same divisions.
