Description
Named USMC Good Conduct group – Joseph R. Strzalka, 1942, 3rd Marine Division. Marine grouping named on the Good Conduct Medal to JOSEPH R. STRZALKA / 1942. The medal hangs from the Marine Corps rifle suspension with bars U.S. MARINE CORPS and SECOND AWARD-two four-year hitches, the first closed in the year America entered the war. American Defense Medal with BASE clasp (duty at a shore station outside the continental United States before 7 December 1941). Also: American Campaign, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, World War II Victory. Third Marine Division shoulder patch (scarlet shield, gold caltrap) and a large embroidered USMC bulldog. Snapshot of a young Marine kneeling with a Browning Automatic Rifle. The 3rd Marine Division, formed September 1942, went from New Zealand to Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima. Medals with even bronze tone; Good Conduct naming sharp; patches clean; photo period. A named two-award Marine Good Conduct group with the Base clasp and the 3rd Division patch of the Pacific war.
