Description
An Imperial Japanese 7th Class Order of the Sacred Treasure (Kun-nanato Zuihosho). The medal is constructed of silver in the form of an eight-pointed star representing the Yata no Kagami (Sacred Mirror). The points are joined and terminate in rounded globules. The central medallion features a stylized multi-petaled flower shape. The reverse of the medal is embossed with four characters in archaic script, Kunko Seisho, which translates to Medal for Meritorious Service. The medal is suspended from its original triangular-folded white silk ribbon featuring two yellow-orange vertical stripes near the edges. The original metal hook and eye fastening assembly is present on the reverse of the ribbon. The award is housed in its original black-lacquered wood presentation case. The lid is decorated with a vertical column of six gold-colored seal script characters identifying the award as the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 7th Class. The interior is lined with purple velvet molded to the shape of the medal and ribbon.
