This lot consists of two United States military maps produced during the World War II era. The first item is a US Army Air Forces Aircrew Escape and Evasion Map of the Nagasaki region, Pacific Theater of Operations. The map is printed on lightweight, foldable rayon fabric at a scale of 1:1,000,000. Printed identifications include SECOND EDITION – AMS 3 and NAGASAKI at the top margin, with A.M.S. 5301, First A.M.S. Printing 1942, and Second Edition 1944 in the lower-left corner. The center-right quadrant features a handwritten autograph and inscription in black ink: Capt C.D. Albury – Pilot / Bockscar Nagasaki / Aug. 9, 1945. Charles Donald Albury, the co-pilot of the B-29 Superfortress Bockscar during the atomic bombing mission of August 9, 1945.
