Description
A US M1916 hip holster manufactured for the M1911 and M1911A1 .45 caliber semi-automatic pistols. The holster is constructed from russet-colored leather and features a fold-over flap design. The front flap is embossed with the US insignia within an oval border. The reverse of the holster is equipped with a wire belt hanger for attachment to a standard web utility belt. A leather tie-down cord is attached to the brass eyelet at the muzzle end of the holster. The reverse side features a clear stamped attribution to WITTE SADDLERY CO. with the production year 1944. The construction includes heavy-duty tonal stitching and brass hardware, including the closure stud and eyelet.
