Description
A United States Army Signal Corps Type CS-16 flag kit carrying case, manufactured during the WWII era. The case is constructed from heavy-duty yellow canvas designed for high visibility. The design features a top closure flap secured by a single canvas strap and a metal friction buckle. The side of the case is equipped with two sets of three metal-reinforced grommet holes for attachment to other equipment or a carrying strap. The front of the case displays black stenciled markings including the Signal Corps branch insignia of two crossed flags with a central vertical torch. Text markings read SIGNAL CORPS, U.S. ARMY, FLAG, KIT, and TYPE CS-16. This specific case was designed to house the M-238 signaling set, which typically included a pair of semaphore flags.
