Spring Military Aviation and Militaria Auction
Lot 157:
Description
A German military issue hardshell holster designed for the Parabellum-Pistole 1908, commonly known as the Luger P08. The item is constructed from black pebbled leather, a finish typically associated with mid-to-late World War II production. The holster features a large top flap with a downward-fastening leather strap that secures to a steel closure stud on the body. A dedicated pouch for a spare magazine is stitched to the forward edge. The reverse side is fitted with two wide vertical leather belt loops for attachment to a standard combat belt. Markings on the reverse, centered between the belt loops, include the stamped designation P08. Above this mark is a faint, stylized eagle with down-swept wings, identifying it as a Waffenamt military acceptance stamp. Below the P08 mark are traces of a maker code and date, though these characters are too worn for definitive transcription.
