World War II era United States Army Air Forces parachute assembly, identified by the printed label as an Army-Navy specification model AN 42N200-1. The assembly was manufactured by the Reliance Manufacturing Company under contract W535-AC-26572. The set includes the pack tray, harness, and a separate transport bag. The harness is constructed from heavy off-white cotton webbing with a single black tracer thread running through the center. It is equipped with standard metal friction buckles and attachment hardware. The pack tray is made of Olive Drab canvas and is designed for back-type use. It includes a flexible metal ripcord housing tube, a ripcord handle housing, and is secured by four elasticized bungee cords. The transport bag is a heavy canvas duffel-style bag with wrap-around handles. The pack tray label is dated January 19, 1943, with a contract date of December 1942 and serial number 310074.
