Description
A US Army M1941 pattern wool knit cap, popularly known as a Jeep Cap. This olive drab wool headgear features a characteristic short, stiffened visor and a wide, integrated fold-down cuff intended for cold weather protection of the ears and neck. The design was standardized during World War II to be worn as a stand-alone field cap or as a liner underneath the M1 steel helmet. The item is constructed of ribbed knit wool. No manufacturer labels, contract numbers, or size stamps are present or visible on the interior or exterior surfaces.
