Description
This is an original WWII Imperial Japanese Army Type 90 steel combat helmet. The shell features a domed shape with a flared rim and ventilation holes located near the crown. The exterior retains portions of the original olive-brown paint. Two vertical holes are present on the front of the shell for the mounting of the brass Imperial Army star insignia, which is absent. The interior contains a three-pad leather liner system. Two of the leather liner pads feature hand-written inscriptions in black ink using Japanese kanji characters. The left pad is inscribed with the name translated as Ohara Tsutomuichi. The right pad is inscribed with the unit designation indicating the 3rd Company. The original cloth chinstrap is missing.
