Description
This commemorative souvenir medal was issued for the 1939 New York World’s Fair and is identified as catalog variety B-3002. The obverse features the Trylon and Perisphere design with the inscriptions 1939, IN NEW YORK, and WORLD’S FAIR, along with the patent mark U.S. PAT. 107434. The reverse features the George Washington inauguration design and bears the inscriptions SOUVENIR OF THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY and GEORGE WASHINGTON’S INAUGURATION. The medal is struck in a brass-toned metal and is attached to a vintage brass-colored ball chain via a suspension hole at the 12 o’clock position. Diameter: approximately 31 mm.
