Description
This lot features three vintage matchbox holders of varying materials and designs, likely dating from the early to mid-20th century. The first item is a metal matchbox holder featuring a hand-painted floral design on a black ground. The decoration consists of a large yellow composite flower and a pink and purple rose-style blossom accented with green leaves. The reverse side is finished in plain black. The second item is a fabric-covered matchbox holder wrapped in a woven textile with a plaid pattern of green, blue, yellow, and cream stripes. The third item is a metal souvenir matchbox holder featuring color lithographic images of Washington, D.C. landmarks. One side depicts the White House with a fountain in the foreground and text reading WHITE HOUSE, WASHINGTON, D.C.
