A hand-embroidered panel on natural linen ground, worked in wool and silk threads in vibrant shades of indigo blue, crimson red, rose, and ivory. The central field depicts paired male and female figures in traditional regional dress, flanking stylized trees and floral sprays, enclosed within a bold geometric and floral border populated by birds and abstract motifs. Characteristic of Hungarian and Transylvanian dowry and household textiles, this piece reflects the lively folk narrative style of the early 20th century. Dimensions: approx. 34 x 34 in. (86 x 86 cm) Condition: Good overall; linen ground with light toning, minor thread breaks and small frays consistent with age and use. Provenance: From a private collection, upstate New York.
