Description
Although not an original Steiff, this set appears to be of high quality. Continental, circa 1920s?1930s Charming early teddy bear with golden mohair plush, glass button eyes, vertically stitched nose, and jointed limbs. The bear retains original hand-knitted socks and comes with a small companion bear fashioned in similar style, stitched features, and worn mohair surface. Both display endearing evidence of play and age, lending a warm character and appeal for collectors of early bears and children?s toys. Dimensions: Larger bear approx. 20 in. tall; smaller bear approx. 6 in. tall. Condition: Well-loved condition; wear to mohair, some seams restitched, one paw with patch repair, knit socks with holes; small bear with heavy wear and threadbare areas.
