Description
This ribbon bar is the type encountered with WWI vintage DSM medal sets. The ribbon is in gorgeous condition, but the red edge stripes have a somewhat orangish hue. I believe this to simply being a dyer’s lot variation and not due to fading. The most interesting thing about this ribbon is that the brass frame on the back side is marked to the NS Meyer Company of New York City. The pin moves freely. The catch is a punched metal hook made as part of the frame. These ribbons are nearly impossible to find in this condition.
