Description

A rare and desirable WWI U.S. Army Air Service officer’s uniform, named to Captain L. Gracy. This impressive set features a beautifully hand-sewn pair of original bullion USAS Aviator wings on the left chest—an iconic and highly sought-after insignia. The tunic retains “PB” marked sterling silver captain’s bars and a Washington, D.C. maker’s label inside the lining, confirming its period tailoring. There is some light wear or notation visible beneath the wings, but the jacket remains very presentable and displays exceptionally well.Included with the uniform are the matching officer’s trousers and a well-worn overseas side cap, showing character consistent with wartime use. Dated 1917A fine and complete example of an early U.S. military aviator’s uniform, offering strong display appeal and historical significance—ideal for any WWI or aviation-focused collection.
