Description
Up for auction is one (1) United States Marine Corps Officer’s Mameluke Sword complete with its matching scabbard, manufactured by NS Meyer Inc. in West Germany. Though the exact date of manufacture is unknown, the sword is officially certified by the USMC, with the spine engraved:“USMC App. Serial #322.”The hilt bears the NS Meyer hallmark—a shield and squirrel logo reading “Conqueror, ” with “Trade” above and “Mark” below. The reverse side features a gold seal stamped “Proven.” Below the hallmark, the hilt is clearly marked “West Germany.”The stainless steel blade, measuring 29-1/2 inches, is ornately etched on both sides with “United States Marines, ” USMC insignia, and a blank panel intended for the officer’s name. The sword measures 35-1/2 inches in total length including the hilt.Condition is Excellent
