Lot 234:
Description
This blouse is clearly the inner layer of a two-part design. The sleeves are very full above the wrist and shaped as if they should be the under layer of a Pagoda sleeve (late 1860s) while the shoulder seams are high on the shoulder (early 1870s). Construction is a combination of machine and hand sewing with the button holes clearly hand sewn. Waistline is straight as was common in the 1860s and the fabric is in very good condition.
