Signed lower left, artist unidentified Oil on canvasboard depicting a tranquil woodland stream flanked by birch and hardwood trees in full autumn color, with a distant sunlit clearing beyond. The artist has employed rich impasto and bold color contrasts to evoke the textures of fallen leaves, rocks, and reflections in the water. Housed in a decorative gilt wood frame. Dimensions: approx. 32 x 44 in. (frame), 24 x 36 in. (sight). Condition: Good overall; scattered surface accretions, light craquelure, and wear to frame consistent with age; structurally sound. Provenance: From a private collection, upstate New York.
