Description
This is an authentic and rare piece of World War II German flight equipment: a Luftwaffe Pilot s Wrist Compass, identified by the inscription as a Armbandkompa§ wrist compass, Model AK 39 M. This specific compass was manufactured by Kadlec, a known supplier of aviation instruments, and bears the serial number Werk Nr.: 117 561 and the required service designation Anforderz.: FL 23235, confirming its official Luftwaffe issue status. The compass features a large, black circular housing with a rotating bezel and a clear glass face, displaying a dark dial with bright luminous radium paint for night use, marked with 24-hour designations 0-330 degrees. The compass is fitted with its original black leather wrist strap, showing wear and age consistent with period use, making this a highly desirable and functional piece of navigation equipment used by German pilots and aircrew throughout the war.
